It’s a New Year and time to get back to making more videos to help anyone who wants to learn about the various Microsoft products we here at Pragmatic Works train. I’ve made over 40 different YouTube videos over the past two years, but for this year I wanted to create a structured series that will be dedicated to the Microsoft Power Platform.
Each month I plan on posting at least two videos that will
cover various topics dedicated to Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and
Power Virtual Agents. Some of the videos
will be “one-off” videos while the majority will be continuations of discussion
from the prior videos in the series.
I plan on giving you all the resources you will need to
follow along. Whether you start with me
from episode 1 or you pick up with me on episode 11, I
hope to give you great insights into how to use the programs and start
implementing your business solutions.
In this first episode, I am starting with building a Canvas
Application. The ultimate goal of this
application will be to record inspections of different public parks. If you want to follow along with me in
building the app, the data sources and steps of how to connect to the data will
be documented for you in the video. If you
just want to watch and learn, I’m sure you will find great ways to implement
the skills covered in your solutions.
My primary focus of this first episode is to explain the functionality of galleries within canvas applications. Galleries are primarily used for users to
view data within their application.
Galleries give you a multitude of design options and modifications that
you typically don’t get with a rigid table structure.
When working with galleries there is some MUST KNOWS
to make the gallery creation process as easy as possible and give you the
flexibility to see the data the best way you see fit. I like to call these MUST KNOWS the Rules
of Gallery Club. I cover the difference between modifying the whole gallery
versus modifying the Template Cell of the gallery. The basic rules of creating galleries will be
discussed in this video, but I will be adding more of the advanced features of
galleries and troubleshoots in future videos.
I hope you are excited to join me this year in my Power
Platform Series. We’ve Got This!
